The Canvey LNG Project and Team.

You may not be aware of it, but due to an ever-widening gap between levels of supply and demand, the UK is already importing natural gas and became a net importer at the end of 2004.

It is vital that there are alternative sources of natural gas available for UK natural gas customers to ensure security of supply.

That’s why the Canvey LNG team is committed to developing a ‘state of the art’ natural gas importation, storage and regasification facility at Canvey.

The unique location of the is\land, coupled with the largest jetty in the Thames Estuary, make Canvey the ideal site for the project.

A number of these strategically sited liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals will play a crucial role in future gas supplies – indeed LNG is estimated to be 25% of the UK’s natural gas demand by 2010 (source Wood Mackenzie).
